Bella Vista Park Revisited - Gresham - 9.4.26

In 2026 I returned to Bella Vista Park for the first time since 2011, and was surprised to see it looking pretty much exactly the same. The DangerSlide is still present, and perhaps the biggest difference is in that area -- they've replaced the shiny slopes with green golf-course-looking stuff, and have added some bursts of color. The whole place is still holding up nicely after fifteen years.

Bella Vista Park - Gresham - 2.24.11

Bella Vista Park

Bella Vista does have a nice view, especially from the top of the Forbidden Slide. Yes -- built into a hill of cement was a shiny, metal, burn-your-bootie-on-a-hot-day slide -- only the top was blocked off by wood and there was a sign saying "Warning. High Water Below. Do Not Enter." But it lied; there was NO water below. And there were ways to circumnavigate that little obstacle... so... fun times!

The park also boasts a modern playstructure that looks like it was made within the last few years. Cool color scheme, too.

Location: Gresham, near Powell Blvd. and Birdsdale Ave. Directions: Take Powell to NW Bella Vista Ave., or take NW Birdsdale to NW 5th St., which turns into Bella Vista Park.
