Alberta Park - NE Portland - 7.20.09

Alberta Park

Alberta Park is one of those places that has a little bit of everything: old wooden structures; hard, plastic, oh-so-safe climbables; mod/abstract wackiness; and -- beloved of beloveds -- an old metal curly slide with not one, not two, but THREE CURLS! I love that slide. I kind of want to hug it. Okay, so maybe it's a little mismatched as far as playgrounds go, but for the love of all things good and pure, I hope they never get rid of that slide.

The park is full of tall trees (read: shade) and paved pathways, and seems like a good place for a walk. Though maybe not at night, as things can feel a bit sketchy after dark.

Location: NE 22nd and Killingsworth
